Burley Stores operates as a friendly village café and takeout spot right on Ringwood Road in Burley. It’s the kind of place that suits both locals looking for a casual midday pause and visitors wandering through the area in need of a quick, satisfying bite without fuss.

The atmosphere leans toward traditional and unpretentious, with limited indoor seating and a small outdoor area where customers can enjoy their food and drink on a mild day. This setup makes it a convenient stop during walks or errands, especially when the weather allows for sitting outside in the fresh air.

Burley Stores shines with its straightforward, well-executed menu items. Their pasties, particularly variations like the spicy chickpea or chicken, leek, and bacon, are well regarded for being freshly made and hearty enough to satisfy hungry visitors. The falafel and spinach burger offers a vegetarian-friendly option, and the coconut smoothie made with soya milk adds a light, refreshing choice for something different. For a relaxing afternoon treat, local ice cream and cream teas provide a simple but pleasant way to pause, though the house scones may lean more on the bready side than the crumbly.

The service matches the homely feel of the place – friendly, attentive, and personal. Staff often go out of their way to help, which comes across as genuine rather than practiced, contributing to a comfortable and easygoing experience. Because seating is limited indoors, many patrons make use of the small garden or come prepared to take food away, making it a reliable fallback for anyone overshooting their walk or seeking a casual catch-up spot.

Burley Stores fits neatly into the village rhythm, favored for its simplicity and straightforward fare rather than trend-driven flair. It works well as a pit stop for families, walkers, or anyone craving locally made pasties and light refreshments without the need for a long sit-down meal. Visiting mid-morning or early afternoon during warmer days can make the most of the outdoor seating, while cooler or busier times may call for takeout with a quick nod to the friendly counter staff.

Burley Stores is a lovely traditional tea room right in the middle of the village. We enjoyed the New Forest ice cream and the cream tea (although the scone was a little more bready than I typically would prefer). There is limited outdoor seating but it still provided a pleasant stop during the day

Overshot on our walk and ended up hungry so popped in with reasonably low expectations…have to say they were blown out of the water! I had a spicy chickpea pastry and it was seriously good, the other pasties also looked fab. Had a bottle of cider in the garden too, really lovely little pit stop

So was in the area for work, bought a (Cornish style) pastie, chicken, leek and bacon, nice and friendly staff asked if I would like it warmed. Great service, good price and very nice food

Anytime we have been here the woman behind the counter has been great but today she went above and beyond. Me and my wife each got an ice cream and unfortunately in the car park she got spooked by a wasp and dropped it and got very upset (she is currently 24 weeks pregnant) so I went back in to get another and told the lady behind the counter why I was back again (because I thought it was kind of funny) and she replaced the ice cream for free. I told her I would pay but she insisted. It was a really nice gesture that ironically made my pregnant wife cry even more but in a good way. Thank you very much. Also the cornish pasties are delicious!

They have a really good selection of pasties and sausage rolls, also catering well for vegetarians and vegans. I tried their vegan Cornish pasty and it was really good. My husband had the steak and stilton pasty and also really enjoyed it. Both had a plentiful, tasty and well seasoned filling as well as tasty, crusty pastry. They also serve good coffee with a choice of milk and milk alternatives for vegans or lactose intolerant.
